This is the print of a fig leaf (what is called a banana leaf in temperate countries) from a clump of them in the garden. I planted this many years ago on a whim and it’s emerged as a wonderful focal point and simultaneously – a marker – as one moves from a path to the patio area.
Often, when in the garden, something stands out – a leaf, a flower, a cloud, waves in the sea, the sound of a bird, a dried leaf, a lichen, a new shoot – and the connection I feel is wonderful. It’s as though it and I are one. I’d then cut it and use it making a few different pieces until as a friend said ‘the leaf finished doing its work.’ ☺️
