My eldest sister, who is also an artist, gave me the ‘ends’ of canvas that were left over from work she’d done. She knows how much I believe that we through away too much ‘stuff’ which could be re-used and which is filling up the world’s landfills ➡️ so she passed on several pieces of her linen on to me. She made, many years ago, greeting cards using pieces of linen. I’ve always loved them and was inspired by their size and spirit to make this.

I painted one length of linen over the course of a few days and cut it into 4 pieces as it seemed to lend itself to this. This is one of the pieces. The others are now sold.
