I started paying more attention to what I am putting into the garbage – trying to prevent more stuff from going into overflowing landfills and plastic from entering our food-chain. I stopped throwing away my paint containers all together. 

There are ALSO beautiful, differently shaped bits of paint that collect around the mouths of the containers with perfect circles in the middle (upper right hand corner) that are perfect for animals to eat or nibble on (and therefore belly-ache for fish!)

These circles could find a better use – in my work! and was the starting point for this piece.
