Artist Bio:
Jade Johnatty, aged 15, is a self-taught artist who currently attends Providence Girls’ Catholic School. She has dabbled in acrylics, watercolours, graphite, charcoal, clay, jewellery-making and she sews, but her first love continues to be oil paint. Her work comes from a personal space, and while she admires the classical painting styles of realism, post-impressionism, baroque and fauvism, her personal style is a unique blend, retaining her own individuality.
Since becoming a member of the Art Society Of Trinidad and Tobago three years ago, she has successfully exhibited in five art exhibitions. Jade has also been featured by Dairy Dairy’s “Possibility Kid” advertising campaign for her work and talent in visual arts. Her artistic journey is just beginning, and she continues to explore and expand her skillset, challenging herself with new mediums and techniques. She inspires one day to showcase the rich and vibrant cultural heritage of Trinidad and Tobago globally through her artworks.
She passionately believes that, “Good art should inspire, connect, evoke emotion and transport its viewer on a journey or at the very least, leave an impact, a lasting impression.”
